The book -Publishing

I had never had the thought of publishing a book.

I belonged to the old school of music that was getting manuscripts all over the place; to these manuscripts, personal musical compositions and musical settings were included, most of which I gave to friends and students who had a thirst for knowledge. As a result, on the one hand, I accumulated many manuscripts and, on the other, there was a great demand for copies of something (compositions) that were either lost or destroyed. My family mainly convinced me to compile the manuscripts into a book. After several years, I managed to self-publish a liturgical book in a few copies, mainly for friends and students.

(I am setting forth the following prologue from the book):

By the grace of God, I was able to complete and present to you my work entitled "Byzantine Hymns of the Divine Liturgy". This work includes all the hymns sung in the Divine Liturgy and it is either my personal compositions or adaptations of other colleagues. I also considered it necessary to include in this volume some compositions of the late Archon Protopsaltis of M.X.E. Konstantinos Priggos, but also of my teacher Archon Protopsaltis of the Most Holy Archdiocese of Constantinople, Athanasios Karamanis, as a sign of honor and gratitude to these great chanting personalities.

Each part is marked with isocrates, indicative breathing points and three-dimensional measures. To our convenience, the appendixes also include Apolitikia Anastasima, Triodio and Pentecostal as well as Eniaftos. To conclude, I invoke the favorable judgment of all my colleagues, wishing this humble effort of mine to offer the least to the great chapter of our Church Music. "

As our ancient ancestors used to say "less is more"; for this reason, I tried to help my colleagues by providing easy executions of the compositions, without falling short in beauty and value.

Even though I do not intend to list myself by any means, I consider the book I published (with my experience as a singer but also as a teacher permitting me to judge on such matters) is a very powerful aid for anyone who wants to deal with, and easily perform perfect performances of the liturgical hymns of Byzantine music.

I will set forth the following excerpts with some remarks:
